VCS Silent Auction
The 5th Edition, 2008

Date: Friday, May 16, 2008
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Auction Items
The silent auction is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events of
the school year here at VCS. This is a time when families gather for a
night of fun and excitement. Fellowship is front and center as participants eye
up their favorite items watching them closely. Friendly competition leads
to roars of excitement as the clock ticks down and bidding closes.
The excitement of winning "your" item caries the same level of joy whether it
is a $20.00 Lee's Hoagie House Gift Certificate or one of the collectible works
of art by our own Erin Rich. VCS is blessed to have an
extensive network of supporters that allow us to make this a wonderful
fund-raising event as well.
Funds collected from the 2008 Silent Auction have been designated to advance
technology initiatives at Valley Christian School. Technology has been formally
integrated into curricular program. Teachers employ a mobile wireless laptop
lab, desktops in the classrooms, smart boards and software projects from the
University of Richmond and Boston University. However, providing increased
levels of technological support are a constant demand.
Through your support of the silent auction, the faculty of VCS will be able
to maintain its focus on equipping your children for success. Investment will be
made in infrastructure, equipment will be purchased, and teacher training will
continue. Your child will be instructed with current curriculum and pedagogical
resources that will make their transition to junior high school a successful
experience.
Carrabba's Italian Grill
Once again, a wonderful partner, Carrabba's Italian Grill stepped up to be
the the official food service provider for the 2008 Silent Auction. VCS features Carrabba's Italian Grill
Pasta Specialty and select sides during this years auction. All proceeds
from the sale of Carrabba's menu items will benefit VCS.
Entertainment
The Magic of Ran D’ Shine
Eye popping, jaw dropping, and fun are just a few words to describe the
magical experience you will have when you see Randy perform. Randy is a frequent
performer at Monday Night Magic, New York’s longest running off Broadway magic
show, and has performed at the world famous Magic Castle. He has amazed and
performed for audiences from New York to Hollywood.
The Puppetry of Ron Zupcic
Enjoy a fun filled adventure with “Slick” as he speaks to the children.
Slick’s message provides children with entertaining stories with biblical
principles for everyday life. This helps to
reinforce the preaching of the Word of God allowing our children to develop a
strong walk in Christ.
A New VCS Tradition
The first annual "All Boy’s Bake off"
A fun event for all the “boy’s” of VCS. Create some fun memories for the
whole school. Our very competent men are charged with baking a “theme” cake.
Creativity is a must. Remember no girls allows to assist!
- The Requirements
- Think of a theme and name for your cake
- Bake and decorate the cake at home, no help from women
- Bring cake to the silent auction and place it up for bid
The cakes will be bid on during the auction, the cake wit the highest bid
wins a prize! HAVE FUN
The Exhibition Program
A program will be given to each visitor. You can see the auction items
listed. It will also have dedications from parents, grandparents, or friends to
the students of Valley Christian School. This book makes a nice keepsake for the
children with their own personal message included. If you would like to
advertise a business or give a message to your special VCS student, please
contact the school office at 215-947-4581 for more information.
