Valley Christian School Handbook

Welcome to Valley Christian School. We are enthusiastic about the partnership that we have with you in the training and education of your child. As we serve God in this ministry, we intend to do the best job that we can. It is our precious privilege to see your boys and girls grow and mature in the formative years. The rewards are great.

Valley Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of gender or race.

A school’s operation involves many details. To assist in keeping you informed, this handbook has been prepared. Your agreement to partner with us is consent that you will abide by the policies and procedures set forth in this handbook. We trust it will be of help to you. The Valley Christian School Board of Directors reserves the right to make policy changes or additions as it deems necessary and appropriate.

Parent Teacher Fellowship

The Parent Teacher Fellowship has been organized to facilitate parent involvement in the school. The function of the PTF includes praying for our children and their teachers, providing activities for the family, and fund raising. The PTF meets on the first Friday of the month and the meetings usually last one hour.

Parents help through the PTF with room mothers/fathers, hot lunch program, grading papers, and helping in other various needs throughout the school and classroom.

Activities include roller skating parties, bowling, and the beginning of the year picnic.
The Parent Teacher Fellowship is a wonderful way to be involved in your child’s school.  The "Details" link will reveal the many events that are sponsored by the PTF as well as a calendar of events for the coming year.

Creative Financing

While Valley Christian School provides an exceptional value in today's education arena, we understand that choosing to provide your children with a quality Christian education may put a strain on the budget at times.

In an effort to see that  a Christ-centered education is available to every interested applicant, Valley has explored many different ways in which to subsidized the cost of education.   We are fortunate in that we only have one direct appeal for contributions each year through our Race for Education.  Our PTF has explored a wealth of different programs that provide financial assistance without asking you to sell, beg or borrow.

We have found the most fruitful programs have been those that work behind the scenes.  Family, friends and co-workers are able to assist while going about their daily routine.  Click on the "Details" link to explore the many different ways you can reduce the cost of education for your loved one.

Partner Churches

Valley Christian School’s origins in 1974 evolved from a congregations desire to offer a Ministry of Christian Education to the children of Huntington Valley Presbyterian Church. As years passed the work of the Holy Spirit shined through in the efforts of the parents, teachers and children of Valley. Gradually the wider church took notice to the enriching values provided to children educated at Valley. Valley saw this as an opportunity to begin extending invitations to children of other congregation.  A meaningful outreach in our community was formed.

Today a rich diversity of Christians value Valley's Christ-centered education where common worship, prayer and Bible study form the backdrop of an education rooted in the Word. Lead by Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church, many churches commit volunteer, financial, and spiritual resources to our programs here at Valley. They are a vital part of keeping our program going.

Take a moment to visit our Brothers and Sisters in Christ through their homes on the Internet. The “Details” link will offer you an opportunity to visit their websites. Additionally, you will be able to see ways in which your home congregation can support the work of Valley Christian School.
